About this trip

The teacher on this retreat is Laura McDonald.  Laura has been practising yoga since 2005. Her first introduction to yoga was Bikram yoga, she loved the feeling of practising in a hot room straight away and quickly became a regular and dedicated practitioner. In 2009 she trained to become a teacher at Bikram’s Yoga College of India in Palm Desert, California, and has been teaching full time ever since. In 2016 she discovered Yin Yoga and travelled to Vancouver, Canada to study with Bernie Clark. This training fundamentally changed her view on both teaching and practising yoga. She was introduced to the idea of skeletal variation and how this affects the ability to do certain poses. She has since completed a further two Yin Yoga trainings with Jo Phee, and this now forms the basis of her teaching practice. Laura prides herself on teaching yoga for every body, helping everyone to enjoy the benefits of a yoga practice. She teaches passionately and compassionately and loves to share her passion with others.

Your yoga teacher

All rooms have sea views and air-conditioning. You can choose to share a room with a friend or another solo traveller, or alternatively you can also book a room for single occupancy (see below for details). Facilities on the property include a beautiful infinity swimming pool where you can relax and enjoy the swimming (and the views), and a private diving platform into the crystal-clear Aegean sea. There is a secluded beach right next to the property and a stunning coastal path leading in both directions, perfect for walking and exploring the neighbouring coves and villages. In the village you will find two tavernas and a beach bar in case you want to sample the local delicacies independently.

The price includes three delicious vegetarian meals a day with wine served at dinner (optional), except for one night out at the local taverna - allow approx 25 euros (not included in the price).

Reviews

For travel, we are recommending flying into Thessaloniki. We will be arranging a private minibus transfer departing Thessaloniki Airport at around 1pm on arrival day to bring guests directly to Dolphins Leap. For the return journey, we will be arranging a private minibus transfer from Dolphins Leap back to Thessaloniki on departure day arriving at the airport by 10.30am. Many guests like to spend a night or two in Thessaloniki before making the journey down to Dolphins Leap, we would be happy to recommend hotels. For guests flying in via Athens or SkiathosIn addition to the Thessaloniki pickup we will also be offering a direct minibus transfer from Volos Town to provide an alternative route to the retreat for guests wishing to fly in via Athens or Skiathos, or wishing to make their own way to Pelion via a scenic route of their own choice. Guests must make their own way to Volos to pick up the transfer. From Athens you can get to Volos easily using the excellent intercity bus service; from Skiathos there is a regular ferry service across to Volos (approx 2 hours crossing time). Please contact us directly if you would like more information. The transfer minibus will depart from Volos bus station at approximately 16.00 on arrival day and return to Volos on departure day to arrive at the bus station comfortably in time to connect with the 09.00 bus to Athens.

Above and beyond expectations! The wonderful Dolphins Leap is so beautiful and such a calming, restorative place to stay. Nick and Pippa are the perfect hosts and Toula cooks the most amazing authentic Greek food I've ever eaten. This is all made even more exceptional by Ioannis, who teaches the Pilates classes and does the treatments and who can only be described as a true healer. I'd urge anyone who needs to reconnect with themselves spiritually and physically to book this trip.

What an amazing place Dolphin's Leap is! The house is stunning and beautifully laid out, there's everything you could need. I felt very welcome and at home. I also can't compliment the home-cooked food enough either!!!! To top it off, I loved the secluded cove and beaches, warm sea and very gentle pace of life in Lefokastro village.
